como zoo

today the four of us drove to st. paul for an afternoon at the como zoo. we all had a really nice day together, taking in more fantastic weather, rides, and animals.

for those of you out-of-state, como zoo has a little amusement area. lots of neat-o rides for little kiddos. lauren rode this ride first, benjamin getting off stating 'it's too scary'. after lauren rode it on her own, he tried it out himself. our timid benja. he had enough fun to try a few more!
brave lauren rode the teacup with papa. he thinks he spun the cup a bit too fast since lauren was a bit unbalanced after getting off. benjamin later rode this one with me. i can't handle crazy spinning like i once could!

this was the BIG ride. ben had to drive the car all by himself. he didn't quite grasp that he had to push the pedal and steer, but he didn't cry (a big feat for ben) or give up! can you see the tongue helping him out?!

the zoo also has a beautiful conservatory and gardens. very nice. jason's favorite part.

in the conservatory they had a japanese garden with coy. lauren couldn't get enough of the fish! upon papa's prompting ("stick your finger in there, lauren") she attempted to pet the coy. fearless, this girl!
