a few firsts

today is the best weather-day ever...5os, sunny, and crispy (as one of ben's books says). so a few firsts today. while lauren was busy napping this am, ben and i carved his first pumpkin. i've mentioned before that he is infatuated with pumpkins right now so this was such a treat for him. afterward he happily posed with all of his pumpkins, but i couldn't get him to look at me. that's how he works these days...he will cooperate and get in position for a picture, but that's it.

another first today took place at washington park, which is ben's favorite park. he used to get really angry at me if lauren got in the way of what he was doing (like if i had to push her when i was pushing him on a swing, or if i tried to set her on a horse when he was riding the horses). today he invited lauren to sit on the purple alligator with him! yay! i was so excited for this that i even left lauren's side to take a few pictures.
