we've had a lot of fun since our break began almost 2 weeks ago. one of the first things on our list was to visit santa. lauren was practicing her smile while waiting in line and then this is what happened when she sat in santa's lap...
we also had several pictures of her "shy" pose with her head looking over her shoulder...
and this was as close to a smile as we were able to get. at least there were no tears!
my parents visited for nearly a week over Christmas. benjamin & lauren loved having them here (we did, too!). above you see the kiddos "sharing" suckers. lauren really, really wanted another lick of benjamin's ring pop.

lauren was pretty excited about this baby, but it was short-lived. baby is now laying solo in her room. i predict a come-back in a few weeks.

during this fishing game we would turn it off, leaving the fish mouths open in order to actually catch one! ben's idea, but none of us complained ;-)
we went to the naval air museum. so much to see there! here is benjamin with his grandpa dave.

reading, reading. lauren's favorite pasttime. she is reading 'caps for sale' with grandma, her current favorite from auntie kami. that same day she received the tutu and pirate cap from auntie mary and uncle brandon. she came out of her nap with the whole ensemble on! oh, she's a funny little gal!
